The Copenhagen Ministry of Balboa is proud to announce our third Copenhagen Slow Balboa Festival (CSBF) featuring the fantastic international teachers Anna-Maria & Ralf Bernard from Swingdance Leipzig, Germany, and parties with live bands Friday and Saturday!

Teachers

Once again CSBF 2026 features two days of classes with legendary teachers and dancers Anna-Maria & Ralf Bernard from Swingdance Leipzig, Germany!

Well known for their unique partnership, flow and smooth style in Balboa, Anna-Maria and Ralf look back on a long lasting career in Swing Dance and teaching. Starting classes together in 2012 and founding their own Studio named “Swing Dance Leipzig” in 2014, they got married in 2016 – sharing both their passion for swing dancing and their lives! Along with Balboa and Slow Balboa, Anna-Maria and Ralf teach Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.

Anna-Maria explored ballet and other dances since her childhood, before becoming infected with the fun of Swing Dancing. She also has an apprenticeship in Yoga. Ralf was playing Badminton in his childhood until he started swing dancing in 2007. He has been teaching Lindy Hop and Balboa since 2010 in Leipzig and pushed the scene building a lot.

Venue

All parties and classes will take place in a beautiful Ballroom on the 3rd floor.

This venue is 390 meters from the metro station Amagerbro so it is very easy for you to get there no matter where you stay in Copenhagen.

Bands

Jeppe Zacho Trio and Rasmus Vennevold & Friends will light up the floor Friday and Saturday.

Classes and levels

We will have 2 levels, one with focus on moves and variations and the other with a focus on technique, both are for dancers which have prior Slow Balboa workshop or weekly class experience.

The teachers/organizers may ask you to move up or down a level if they believe you have selected or been placed at a wrong level.

Moves and Variations: You have some prior Slow Balboa experience. This class will focus on learning you new material

Saturday, 14:00-17:00 incl. 2 short breaks
Sunday, 10:00-13:00 incl. 2 short breaks
Technique: You know the basics of Slow Balboa very well, have a reasonably broad spectrum of dance material. You can dance comfortably even if the music is slow, and you want to have a deep focus on the technique of Slow Balboa.

Saturday, 10:00-13:00 incl. 2 short breaks
Sunday, 14:00-17:00 incl. 2 short breaks

Evening activities and parties

Friday night

To accommodate newer Slow Balboa dancers the music during evening parties will not be only Slow Balboa music. We aim at 50 % Slow Balboa music and the rest will be a mix of regular Balboa and Lindy music.

- 19:30 – 20:30 Slow Balboa Taster w. Miranda & Eiki:“Melt into the Melody” – you’ll explore how to create a soft, elastic connection with your partner, so every slow step feels clear, comfortable, and effortless. You’ll work on connecting your steps to the music, playing with pauses and stretches, and letting the melody shape your movement. Open level, with some Slow-Bal experience recommended.

- We help each other tidy up and leave no later than 01:30

Saturday night

Sunday Evening

Sunday evening we’ll have a tea dance. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity of the venue that sells food which you are very welcome to bring along.

Prices

- Participating at one level including party pass Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 1.450 DKK or 195 Euro
- Participating at two levels including party pass Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 1.950 DKK or 261 Euro
- Party pass for Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 625 DKK or 84 Euro

Terms & Conditions

Payments

Payment must be made within 3 days of receiving acceptance email and payment instructions to secure your registration. If we don’t receive your full payment in due time your reserved spot may be given to another person.
Please take care of all transfer costs and conversion cost if paying via bank transfer.
Unfortunately we cannot refund your purchased class pass for any reason, but you may transfer your class pass to someone else with the same dance role (leader or follower). If you do so, let us know by email to whom you sold your class pass so we can update the registration.

Liability

All participants are attending the event at their own risk
The Ministry of Balboa do not assume any liability or responsibility for incidents and/or injuries and loss or damage of any personal belongings during the classes or socials.
Classes with very few participants may be cancelled

Other information
